Synopsis
Travel in style as you explore the Southwest's premier world-class destinations. From the majesty of Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks to the sculptured red-rock magnificence that is Sedona and Monument Valley and finally, a smooth water raft adventure on the Colorado River, immerse yourself in incomparable beauty while discovering the natural and human histories of this wild and fascinating country. Program begins in Phoenix and concludes in Las Vegas or reverse with included transfers to airports.

Course Description
The Southwest contains America's most wondrous geologic features, largest Native American reservation, best preserved archaeological sites, and out of this world scenery. Discover it all as you enjoy field trips to the archaeological sites of Montezuma Castle and Navajo National Monuments, a guided 4-wheel jeep trip into Monument Valley, naturalist led walks at Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks, and a smooth water raft adventure on the Colorado River to historic Lee's Ferry. Enjoy art demonstrations and talks by Navajos explaining their fascinating culture, a musical performance, and talks from regional experts on topics including archaeology, geology, and regional characters from John Wesley Powell to John Wayne. Amazing scenery throughout makes the journey as rewarding as the destination.

Accommodations
Zion: NPS lodge in the heart of Zion Canyon; Grand Canyon: NPS lodge adjacent to the historic Grand Canyon Village and just minutes from South Rim viewpoints; modern hotels in all other locations. Multiple restaurants throughout with varied southwest cuisine.
