a smooth water raft trip on Colorado river and guided tour into Monument Valley. This trip is

Course
Description While these lands are undeniably
spectacular, it is the captivating stories of natural and human
histories that give them shape and meaning. From the Anasazi and
their descendants to the proud and resourceful Navajo and Hopi,
learn about the lands and culture of America's largest Native
American population. Study the awesome natural processes that
created this unparalleled landscape while exploring the natural
history of the Colorado Plateau. Discover the tales of the settlers,
adventurers, and exploiters who have left their mark upon this land.
There will be daily hikes, lectures, demonstrations and interactions
with Native American People. Includes visits to
Museum of Northern Arizona, a five story pre-historic cliff dwelling
at
Montezuma Castle National
Monument,
Wupatki and
Sunset Crater National Monuments,Lake Powell's
shores, Colorado river raft trip,
Monument Valley's impressive spires, and culminates with a
Grand Canyon sunset before returning to Phoenix. This program is a
combination of adventure, learning and comfort that you will long
remember. Please Note:There
are daily 1 to 2 mile hikes.
Accommodations
& Travel Modern hotels with pools (open seasonally)
in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Monument Valley, and Lake Powell. Grand
Canyon: National Park Service Lodge just one quarter mile from the
South Rim. Free shuttle bus in GC village allows access to
trailheads, historic village/sites and gift/retail shops. Travel will take place in a comfy 2001 motor coach with on-board
bathroom.
