Detailed itinerary, dates & price

Synopsis
Come to Arizona's high country and discover two treasures! Flagstaff, at 7,000' elevation, enjoys beautiful summer weather and is a central location for the study of Native American culture and archaeology. Sedona, just 28 miles south of Flagstaff, rests on the escarpment of the Colorado Plateau and is surrounded by red rock splendor and bisected by the glistening waters of Oak Creek.

Course Description
Sinaqua To Shakespeare: Native And Modern Culture In the Southwest

Arizona contains our nation’s largest Native American reservation, the oldest inhabited village in North America, and a rich archaeological record. Discover Navajo and Hopi culture through lectures and a visit to the Museum of Northern Arizona. Enjoy field trips to the cliff dwellings of Walnut Canyon and Montezuma Castle National Monuments and to magical Oak Creek Canyon. While in Sedona, enjoy a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the fabulous Sedona Shakespeare Festival as well as two field trips to Sedona’s greatest attractions. Take in pre-and post performance talks from noted theatre artists and have a dinner with the theatre’s ensemble. Includes attendance at two of the festival’s evening performances, Romeo and Juliet and Two Gentlemen of Verona.
