Synopsis
Train at the facilities the 2004 Olympic athletes used to win
medals! Welcome to the premier high altitude training center in the
US (7,000' elev).
The Center for High Altitude Training on Northern
Arizona University's campus hosted athletes representing 11
countries who took home 41 medals during the 2004 Olympiad in
Athens. Olympic-sized pool; state of the art training facility. Meet Olympic trainers and
use their expertise to reach your own fitness goals. Flagstaff
is located 140 miles north of Phoenix with convenient access via
plane, train and bus.

Sampler: Aqua-Jogging, Tai-Chi, Yoga, Hiking, and More
Reinvigorate your health while realizing
the advantages of an active lifestyle! Designed for all fitness
levels, this program introduces a variety of activities with the
intention of helping you shape a personal fitness plan and improve
your strength, balance, stamina and health. Daily activities utilize
NAU's
Olympic size pool, low-impact weight training facilities, and a
variety of active/fitness activities including Tai-Chi, Yoga, and
aqua-jogging/aerobics. Your week is enhanced with afternoon hikes in
the majestic red rock canyons of Sedona, the pine forests of the San
Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff, and/or other scenic wonders. Evening
discussion topics will include the latest trends in adult
healthcare. Activity Level: 3 (see
description)
This program is designed for a range of fitness levels.
Participants can choose how little or how much activity they prefer.
Afternoon hikes on uneven trails require adequate hiking shoes or
boots.
Accommodations
Lodging adjacent to the Center for High Altitude Training at the
"Inn at NAU", the on-campus Inn/Restaurant and former University
President's home, operated by NAU's School of Hotel and Restaurant
Management. Private baths. After exercising
hard during the day, come home to comfort and style.
